Carolina comets open practice
The Carolina Comets are excited to host a special Girls Baseball Open Practice on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Beard Farm – Red Clay Athletic Field in Huntersville, North Carolina. This unique event gives girls of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to step onto the field, develop their baseball skills, and connect with some incredible women in the game.
This open practice will feature special guest coach Brittany Apgar of the Women’s Pro Baseball League (WPBL), who will work directly with players throughout the day. Players will also have the opportunity to meet Dolly Ozburn of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL), helping connect today’s generation of girls baseball players with the history and legacy of women’s baseball.
Whether your player is brand new to baseball or already competing at a high level, this event is designed to be welcoming, encouraging, and fun. Participants will work on baseball fundamentals, defensive drills, hitting, throwing, and overall game development alongside Carolina Comets coaches and players.
The Carolina Comets are the Carolinas’ premier all-girls baseball organization, dedicated to growing opportunities for girls to play baseball while building confidence, leadership, and community through the game.
